Debate

  Today in class we did not have a debate but we talked about what happens during a debate. After that, we listened to a video about the people we let into the United States. The topic that could be a debate topic is, is Trump undermining Asylum or is he restoring it. Then the video goes on to talk about how we turned down 900 jews and sent them back to England and many of them were later killed. We then made a law to allow asylum for everybody who wants to come to the United States. Then there were requirements to coming like proving you were in a dangerous situation. their was five categories persecuted or discriminated for race, nationality, religion, social group, political view. Then we would accept people to make us look good. we would especially accept migrants from people who we disagreed with. We also accepted people who could be useful to us. for instance, Albert Einstein.
