Exams

Today Mr. Shick was not in class so we had a substitute teacher. Today in class we worked on our exams. I am almost done mine but I do not know if he wants them tomorrow or next Friday. In my mind I want to play it safe so I am going to finish and print it out tonight to make sure I do not turn it in late. I did the essay talking about how migration has affected us. In my opinion it is not bad, but I am not fond of immigration to our country. I do not like how they are changing our culture and the way we live. They help us because they do the jobs nobody wants to do for a really cheap price which is good for the economy, but in some cases illegal. I am going to get working on my essay right now so I do not forget.

Test

Today in human geo we took a test on immigration. I do not know how well or bad I did. The test was about everything we had previously worked on about migration. We needed to know the difference between emigration and immigration. Emigration in the movement from your country to another. Immigration in the movement of the others persons country to your country. Most immigrants to the United States are from Mexico. And That is the only reason our population is rising. We also needed to know where most illegal immigrants are inside of the United States. one of them was California, then I did not know the other so I guessed Texas because it is big and on the boarder of the United States. Overall I think I knew most things except for where the immigrants were inside of the United States.

Notes on immigrants

Boarder with Mexico and US. Many Mexicans come to the US because we boarder each other. In my opinion I don't want them because I want us to stay us. The reasons they come are called pull factor. this is from our economy, better way of life, and family reunification. Some people use the family reunification just to get into the US and not to reunite with loved ones. The concerns of immigration have made some changes in the world. We have more effective boarder patrol, and suspicious people have to verify legal status. People in Europe do not want immigrants because it is changing their culture. This could affect people by people adhere to different religions, speak different language, practice different food and cultural habits. Europeans hate immigrants, but they have done what they hate, they have spread their culture to many different places

Reviewing notes

Today in class we talked about the notes we did the class before. He wanted to make sure we had down all of the information. I had already written down all the information he gave us and most of it was on my last blog. we talked about how we estimate 11.3 million unauthorized migrants in the US as of 2014. after its peak of 12.2 in 2007. 1million unauthorized children in the US, also 4.5 million born to illegal immigrants. This children are called anchors because it helps the parent stay. then we talked about the quota of how many migrants can come a year has risen. a quota is an amount of something, in this case its how many immigrants can enter our country a year. in 1978 is was a quota of 290,000. Then in 1990 it was raised to 700,000. We also talked about family reunification and how people used reconnecting with family members to get into the US.

Transportation has improved everywhere so some richer migrants can get around easily. Migrants need to pass legally wherever they want to go. according to the UN 21 countries want more migrants, 32 want less or no migrants, and 116 want it to stay the same. People enter illegally as well. these unauthorized immigrants enter a country without proper documents. More and more on the debate

In class we talked more about the pod cast a little bit more. We talked about the boarder and how Trump wants to keep as many migrants out as possible. Trump was making and trying to make new rules to keep as many migrants out as he could. He did not want people to just come say they will do the procedure then they just hide, disappear. He made it so when people apply for asylum the have to wait in their home country. This helps because that fixes people from running rampant in our country un detected, unsupervised. he also added on to that, only 30 people could apply for asylum a day. This helps control the amount of people applying for asylum each day. People eventually got mad at this and decided to charge the boarder because their smart. They threw rocks at the guards and there were hundreds of them. To disperse the crowd tear gas was used. Trump stated that if rocks are thrown, that it like a rifle.
